EGGERS, Matthew Roland - Putnam

Mathew Roland Eggers, 80, a retired farmer died Thursday morning at 9 at his home here after suffering a stroke Wednesday. He had been ill several months. Born May 18, 1867 in Putnam County, he was the son of Squire F and Amanda Sutherlin Eggers. He married Anna Elizabeth Miller in Greencastle Oct 21, 1886. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow; a son, William F. of Fairfax, Mo; a daughter, Mrs. Mary F. Ronk of Roachdale; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Gordon of North Salem and Mrs. Sarah Alexander of Bloomingdale; 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
